VC Tall Oaks Amazin' Angel
Angel is the product of breeding two very successful NSTRA dogs. When I brought her home, she was precocious with an energy level that knew no bounds. Investigative and wanting nothing more than to explore her new environment, she constantly amazed and thrilled me. She is a joy to watch in the field and the water and a loving house companion.

Int CH Herbst Briese Painted Lady UT1
Lady is the offspring of a long planned breeding between Clyde and Marilyn Vetter's Int CH VC Sharp Shooters Prairiedancer, MH (Tango) and my VC Tall Oaks Amazin' Angel. Lady has been a joy to work with. She possesses a strong desire to please and mental stability. She received her first Prize One in Utility at two years and three months old. She became part of the group that gained the Utility Breeders Award for the kennel.

Int CH Herbst Briese Black Magic UT1
Magic is the offspring of a long planned breeding between Clyde and Marilyn Vetter's Int CH VC Sharp Shooters Prairiedancer, MH (Tango) and my VC Tall Oaks Amazin' Angel. This litter of ten produced a NAVHDA Natural Ability Breeders Award and the kennel's first ever NAVHDA Utility Breeders Award. Clyde and Marilyn had warned me that Tango puppies had to be brought under control early in life.
The bond between a human and a dog can be the most delightful relationship. From the day she was born, Magic has held a special place in my heart. Whether it was because she was smaller than most of her siblings or the way she would (and still does) snuggle into my neck, I am not certain. Like all dogs, she has endearing qualities as well as qualities that can drive you crazy. Magic's Natural Ability test should have been the first dead giveaway about the control thing that I had been warned about. However, we (Magic and I) did manage to give everyone a laugh or two and still get a qualifying score. A captured quail during her field work caused some serious grief and a retrieved (sort of) pheasant on the track did nothing to give me confidence that she was even going to prize. There is nothing like watching a game of keep away to lighten the serious mood of the day. It's all a journey.

Herbst Briese Berk NA2
Elvis was produced through a mating between Int CH VC Grouse Point's Blitz, MH and my Int CH Herbst Briese Painted Lady, UT1. As the last born in the litter, he picked me, which over the years has usually been the case for picking my dogs. The problem that I had was coming up with a call name for him, Berk just doesn't lend itself well to work. He had injured himself at about five months old and needed to be with me in the Sandhills so I could minister to his medical needs, while I was running dogs. I kept puzzling over a name for him when Marilyn Vetter took one look at him and said "Elvis", the king and it certainly fits. He is from Lady's first litter and her first Natural Ability Breeders award litter.
